The DLC Children & Young Adult Center provides holistic, personalized care so each child in need has a chance to express themselves, leading to lasting outcomes.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a voluntary day treatment program that provides structured, intensive, and medically supervised treatment for adolescents ages 13 to 17. The program assists adolescents who are exhibiting significant psychiatric symptoms which are causing severe distress and impairment in areas such as self-care, school functioning, and family or interpersonal relationships. The goal of PHP is to improve functioning, promote life-changing wellness and decrease the need for hospitalization.

The program offers a safe environment for adolescents to learn healthy coping skills without the need for 24-hour inpatient or residential support. PHP is run by a multidisciplinary team including a pediatric psychiatrist, licensed clinicians, and a nurse. Individuals participate in daily therapeutic, educational, wellness, and expressive therapy groups. PHP also includes weekly individual and family therapy as well as medication management visits.

The average length of stay is one to three weeks. DLC also works closely with the school system to ensure a successful transition back to school.

This biweekly, eight week program provides intervention and prevention education that focuses on substance awareness, positive life management skills and personal wellness so each individual can achieve all that is possible in life.

The goal of the Adolescent DBT program is to help individuals 13-17 years old have a life that feels meaningful and worth living by teaching skills to deal with issues that cause distress and avoid self-defeating behaviors. DBT treatment includes weekly one-hour individual therapy sessions, weekly two-hour skills training group therapy and life coaching calls.

Community Services

Children’s Community Services are offered to children and adolescents with a diagnosed mental health or substance use disorder who have numerous deficits in their areas of function that require a variety of services and/or resources to meet those needs. Community Services are community based and provided throughout Collier County.

Wrap-Around Collier Program (WRAP)

Wraparound Collier Program (WRAP) provides specialty behavioral health treatment to high-risk individuals in Collier County and for whom funding for an appropriate level of care does not otherwise exist. Services are provided in the home, school and community-based settings. WRAP services partner with the child, adolescent or young adult and their family to provide the behavioral health treatment services needed to help the individual with serious mental health and behavioral health issues to live at home, do well in school and to live productive lives in our community. The average length of treatment is six to twelve months. Services are funded through Central Florida Behavioral Health Network.

The Community Action Team (CAT) provides a comprehensive array of mental health and other necessary services coordinated by a multidisciplinary, specialized treatment team consisting of clinicians, case managers, mentors, and a medical team. CAT team services are provided in the school, home and community-based settings and are individualized based on the unique needs of each youth or young adult and the family.

Services and service frequency are individualized and adjusted to meet the needs, goals and strengths of the individual receiving targeted case management.  Family involvement is an important service component to promote success for the child or adolescent.
