Naples, Fl – The David Lawrence Centers, Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health and substance use treatment facility serving children, adults and families, is pleased to announce that Fabricio Ferrer, Targeted Case Manager, was named the David Lawrence Centers Direct Service Provider of the Year and was nominated for the Florida Council for Community Mental Health (FCCMH) statewide Direct Service Provider of the Year Award.

The FCCMH is an association of 70 community-based mental health and substance use agencies. The FCCMH Direct Service Provider of the Year Award honors and recognizes a leader in the field who demonstrates and provides outstanding knowledge on behavioral health issues and who has made significant contributions to their organization’s programs and services.

Throughout his tenure with David Lawrence Centers, Fabricio has consistently demonstrated professionalism, compassion and dedication and is a steadfast advocate for the needs of his clients. He facilitates strong partnerships within the community to ensure continuity of care and works collaboratively with his clients, community resources and his treatment team to achieve the best outcomes. Fabricio is recognized with this honor for being a dynamic, skillful professional who provides exceptional service to clients and staff.

Fabricio completed his medical studies in 1994 in Cuba and practiced family medicine there for 14 years. During that time, he worked with a patient population facing issues with drug and alcohol abuse, prostitution and poverty. After coming to the United States in 2010, Fabricio completed his nursing degree, graduating Cum Laude and receiving the Florence Nightingale Nursing Award from Sacred Heart University in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Fabricio joined David Lawrence Centers in December 2013 as a Behavioral Healthcare Technician on the Crisis Stabilization Unit and less than a year later was quickly promoted to Targeted Case Manager where he works with adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
