Becoming a Volunteer
The David Lawrence Center welcomes those who would like to volunteer their time and special talent to help support the Center’s mission to restore and rebuild lives by providing compassionate, advanced and exceptional mental health and substance abuse and integrated healthcare solutions.
Due to the extreme nature of privacy regulations in mental health and substance abuse treatment, we are very limited in where we can use volunteers. If you are interested in helping with special events, or if you hold a certification or special skills in an area you feel would enhance our holistic approach to wellness, please see the link below to complete an application.
Special Events and Fundraising duties could include:
- Helping staff with education and awareness booths at community events
- Event registration
- Event set-up and decoration
- Assisting in fundraising event committee as needed
Certification or Special Skills could include:
- Art therapy
- Fitness instruction
- Music therapy
- Healthcare Proxy
*Volunteers in client programs will be required to complete a background screening, drug screening, and two-step skin test for Tuberculosis. In addition, a brief orientation to include HIPAA training on privacy will be provided.
