Youth Mental Health First Aid Training Hosted by DLC’s Mindful Compassion

On Friday, March 6, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. David Lawrence Center’s Mindful Compassion will host a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training. The Youth Mental Health First Aid training is an 8-hour education program designed for adults who work with youth (ages 12-18). The Youth Mental Health First Aid training will use role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an evidence based, nationally recognized and accredited course created to introduce the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, as well as build understanding of the importance of early intervention. More information regarding Youth Mental Health First Aid can be found at www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org.

The registration fee is $25 and will include training materials and lunch. Registration is required. For questions please contactspiritcare@dlcmhc.com or by calling 239-304-3505.

The DLC Mindful Compassion initiative provides transforming love, support, and hope to those affected by mental health issues. It is an interfaith effort to bring a diverse faith-based experience to all clients by creating caring congregations and communities. More information can be found at www.DLCMindfulCompassion.org
