On Friday, March 6, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. David Lawrence Center’s Mindful Compassion will host a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training. The Youth Mental Health First Aid training is an 8-hour education program designed for adults who work with youth (ages 12-18). The Youth Mental Health First Aid training will use role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an evidence based, nationally recognized and accredited course created to introduce the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, as well as build understanding of the importance of early intervention.
