Recovery Month Awards Ceremony
New Hope Event Center
7675 Davis Boulevard
Event Update (9/25/2017):
Due to Hurricane Irma, our Recovery Month Celebration has been postponed until Thursday, Nov. 2. Thank you for understanding. We look forward to this special event and hope you will join us!
David Lawrence Center is joining the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and other voices of recovery from across the nation to observe the Annual National Recovery Month. This observance, now in its 28th year, is held every September to increase awareness and understanding of behavioral health conditions and support those in recovery. This celebration promotes the message that behavioral health is essential to health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover from mental and substance use disorders.
The 2017 Recovery Month theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities,” inspires communities to be socially inclusive and offer support to those with mental and/or substance use disorders. It also encourages members of the community to seek help when needed, lend a hand, and contribute to their community as citizens, parents, employees, students, volunteers, and leaders.
At the Recovery Month Awards Ceremony, David Lawrence Center will honor the following outstanding individuals and organizations for sharing their voices to advocate, educate, mentor and help others in need of mental health and addiction recovery services:
