Recovery Month Awards Ceremony
Moorings Presbyterian Church
791 Harbour Dr, Naples, FL 34103
This September, David Lawrence Center is joining the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and other voices of recovery from across the nation to observe the 30th Annual Recovery Month.
The objective of Recovery Month is to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate the people who recover. It promotes the message that behavioral health is essential to health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover from mental and substance use disorders.
The 2019 Recovery Month observance will focus on community members, first responders, the healthcare community, and youth and emerging leaders highlighting the various entities that support recovery within our society. The 2019 Recovery Month theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: Together We Are Stronger,” emphasizes the need to share resources and build networks across the country that support recovery in all its forms.
In observance of the nation-wide campaign, David Lawrence Center will hold a Recovery Month Awards Ceremony to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations for sharing their voices to advocate, educate, mentor and help others in need of mental health and addiction recovery services.
The ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 19th at 5 p.m. at Moorings Presbyterian Church. The evening will include educational community partner tables during the reception and an awards presentation.
This year, David Lawrence Center will honor the following individuals and organizations:
