David Lawrence Center is participating in several Back to School events throughout the month of August to spread the message to parents and their kids about our services and promote health and wellness through drug prevention and education and how to live mentally well. Back to School events such as these bring together local businesses who provide services to children and families and include backpack and school supplies giveaways and children’s activities.

The first event will be held in Immokalee on August 6th from 10:00 am – 11:00 pm at the Immokalee Sports Complex at 505 Escambia St, Immokalee, FL 34142. The event is being presented by the monthly Immokalee Ciclovia events and held in conjunction with the Lipman Family Farms Back to School Bash.

Lipman Family Farms is North America’s largest open field tomato grower. At the event they will give away 1,200 free backpacks filled with school supplies to the elementary and middle school age children of Immokalee. This extremely popular annual event is now bigger and better through its partnership with the Immokalee Ciclovia events when every month an Immokalee street becomes car-free, family friendly, and a vibrant place to move, walk, run, bike, skateboard and meet friends and neighbors. There will be free food, entertainment and giveaways. Get the flyer!

The second event will be held in Naples on Saturday, August 13 from 9am to 2pm at the Greater Naples YMCA. This well-attended and much anticipated annual event is presented by Neapolitan Family Magazine. This Back to School Expo will include more than 55 vendors who offer parents the opportunity to get information on goods and services families need for the school year. In addition, there is entertainment, arts and crafts, and special giveaways. Visit their website.

Both events are free for attendees.
