New 2011-2012 Board Officers Elected

The David Lawrence Foundation is pleased to announce the election of its 2011-2012 officers to the Board of Trustees. Each of the following board officers will serve a two-year term:

Michael Benson, Chairman. Benson is the Chief Executive Officer of Insurance Management Consultants, LLC. He has more than 35 years of professional experience working in the wealth transfer planning marketplace and has earned designations as both a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Art Cherry, Vice Chairman. A retired financial services executive, Cherry has professional experience in building and running several firms with a background in investments and finance. Cherry is a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in Business Management.

Daniel Mendoza, Treasurer. Mendoza is Vice President – Senior Portfolio Manager with M&I Wealth Management and has more than a dozen years of experience in the financial services industry. He manages portfolios for high net worth individuals, families, foundations and endowments. Mendoza attended Franklin and Marshall College and holds the FINRA Series 65 and a Trust and Investment Certificate.

Sharon Kenny, Secretary. Kenny is a local writer who publishes a Naples restaurant guide and writes regular restaurant reviews. A graduate of Greater Naples Leadership, Kenny was honored with the 2009 Woman of Achievement Award by the American Association of University Women.

Richard “Dick” Munro, Immediate Past Chairman. Munro is a retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Time, Inc. and Time Warner, Inc. He served in the United States Marine Corp and is a graduate of Colgate University and Columbia University.

The non-officer members of the 2011-2012 David Lawrence Foundation Board of Trustees include Kevin Hale, George Leamon, William “Bill” O’Neill, David Schimmel, Elizabeth Star, Robin Stranahan, Heidi Colgate-Tamblyn, John Vega and Christine Williamson.
