During National Mental Health Awareness Month, each year in May the mental health community joins together to reaffirm our commitment to building a better understanding of mental illnesses, increasing access to treatment and spreading awareness about the importance of good mental health for everyone.

This May, David Lawrence Centers is celebrating the many heroes who support mental health in our community with an open house and health fair during our grand opening celebration. Facility tours of our beautiful new Children’s Outpatient Building, Genoa pharmacy and the new Healthcare Network of SW Florida medical office scheduled to open in May will be available.

Children, adults, families, referral sources and donors are all welcome to join in on this free, family fun event. The event is open to the public and includes opportunities to meet local mental health heroes at our community partner education tables. Our heroes will host health and wellness demonstrations, brief educational presentations and provide mental health screenings during the event. There will be plenty of opportunities for the kids to engage with our heroes with an art therapy craft station, an “express your feelings” photo booth, contests and games and chances to win excellent prizes. Food vendors will also be site.

Come play, engage and learn more about how you can become a mental health hero at our Mental Health Month Open House on Friday, May 12th from 3:30 – 6:00 pm at the David Lawrence Centers Polly Keller Campus at 6075 Bathey Lane, Naples.
