David Lawrence Center’s 50th Anniversary
In 2018, David Lawrence Center will celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Established in 1968 through the vision, hard work and determination of its founder Polly Keller, the Center, then known as the Collier County Mental Health Clinic, was the first mental health and substance use disorder clinic in Collier County and today continues to stand as a pillar of hope, health, and healing for the entire community.
Our work is not done. As a result of heightened awareness and population growth, service projections for the near future are staggering. To prepare, we worked together with county commissioners on the first ever county-led workshop for mental health. This resulted in the commitment of the commissioners to develop a mental health strategic plan for Collier County.
It has been honor and privilege to serve as a pillar of hope, health, and wellness for the last 50 years and David Lawrence Center looks forward to being a part of helping our community thrive for the next 50 and beyond!
