DAVID LAWRENCE CENTER EXPANDS TELEHEALTH ONLINE E-THERAPY PROGRAM
March 31st, 2016
Naples, Fl – The David Lawrence Center, Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health and substance abuse treatment facility serving children, adults and families, is pleased to announce the expansion of the TeleHealth web-based e-therapy counseling program accessible at DLCTeleHealth.org.
Adults throughout the state of Florida can now access expanded video counseling and coaching sessions with a variety of specially trained licensed therapists with diverse specialties. Individuals can get help with anxiety, loss of a loved one, relationships, depression, trauma or other issues affecting their mental well-being by simply logging on to DLCTelehealth.org, selecting a therapist and scheduling an appointment. These therapists can be accessed through any computer with a built in video camera and an internet connection from the comfort of the client’s home or other location of their choice.
David Lawrence Center Director of Medical Services Linda Rieland said, “TeleHealth is an innovative approach to deliver behavioral health services that can eliminate the barriers that bar people from face-to-face treatment such as travel distance, privacy, work responsibilities or hectic schedules. Since piloting the program last year, we have added more licensed therapist and expanded appointment time availability to include evenings and weekends.”
DLCTeleHealth.org uses a HIPAA compliant, secure, online mental health counseling platform for face-to-face video counseling sessions. Clients can review a directory of therapists, schedule appointments, download forms, make payments and access around the clock technical support through the TeleHealth platform. Clients also have access to a private journal to reflect on their progress and health.
