Brent Lovett, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Brent Lovett serves as the David Lawrence Center Chief Medical Officer providing oversight to physician services in the areas of Acute Care, Urgent Care and Outpatient Medical Services. He is member of the Executive Management Team and is responsible for providing administrative and clinical supervision to the physician team, oversees quality assurance activities for physician services, assures appropriate utilization of physician time and coverage on all medical units, and provides direct psychiatric services to adults, children and adolescents.

Dr. Lovett formerly served as the David Lawrence Center’s Medical Director for two years and prior to that, was the Children’s Medical Director for a total of seven years. He is a board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist with more than 20 years of experience in community mental health. In addition, he owned his own private practice in Southwest Florida serving children and adolescents.

He earned both his bachelor's degree and his medical degree from the University of Kansas. He went on to complete his post graduate work in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry from Kansas University. Dr. Lovett was a Major in the Unites States Army Reserves and recently served in the War in Iraq.



Robert Allen, D.O.
Senior Adult Outpatient Psychiatrist

Dr. Robert Allen is the David Lawrence Center Senior Outpatient Psychiatrist and provides psychiatric and clinical supervision for Adult Outpatient Medical Services and Urgent Care Services.

Dr. Allen earned his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency in psychiatry from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center both in Chicago, IL. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Allen was previously employed by the Ruth Cooper Center in Fort Myers where he served as a Staff Psychiatrist and later as the Outpatient Medical Director. He has served as an instructor and lecturer on multiple topics pertaining to behavioral health.

In addition to his work at David Lawrence Center, Dr. Allen runs a private practice in Estero.



Neal Krupp, M.D.
Adult Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Neal Krupp joined David Lawrence Center in 1996 as a Staff Psychiatrist in the Acute Care and Outpatient Medical Services Departments.

Krupp is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He earned is bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College in Indiana and his medical degree from St. Louis University in Missouri. He attended the Mayo Clinic for his residency in psychiatry and the Cleveland Clinic for his residency in internal medicine. He also served in the United States Navy.

Dr. Krupp has over 40 years of clinical and educational experience. Prior to joining David Lawrence Center, he was a Consultant, Professor and Director at the Mayo Clinic and the Mayo Clinic Medical School. In addition, he served as a Consultant, Program Director and Chairman for the Department of Psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Krupp has received many accolades for his work including being awarded Mayo Clinic Teacher of the Year and being recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Throughout his career, he has also been published in a variety of publications including the American Journal of Psychiatry and the Journal of Clinical Psychology.



Eddy Benoit, M.D.
Adult Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Eddy Benoit is a part-time Staff Psychiatrist in the Adult Outpatient Medical Services Department. He provides bi-lingual psychiatric medical services in Naples and Immokalee.

Dr. Benoit earned his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico. He completed his residency programs in psychiatry in New York at Brookdale Medical Center, Manhattan Psychiatric Center and Harlem Hospital. He received interim psychotherapy training from Columbia University and Karen Horney Institute.

Dr. Benoit has previously worked in both private practice and in the community mental health field throughout Florida including serving as a Senior Physician for G. Pierce Wood Memorial Hospital in Arcadia.

Dr. Benoit speaks fluent Spanish, French and Creole.



Thomas P. Jacob, M.D.
Adult Staff Psychiatrist

Thomas P. Jacob, M.D. is a full time Adult Staff Psychiatrist in the Acute Care and Outpatient Medical Services Departments.

Dr. Jacob, a Native of India, earned his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India. He earned his residency in internal medicine at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur, India. Before relocating to the United States to pursue his residency in psychiatry, he worked as an Internist and Intensive Care Unit Physician for three years in several hospitals in India. In addition, he was an Assistant Professor for MGM Medical College.

Dr. Jacob completed an internship at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Charleston, West Virginia and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Jacob is fluent in English, Hindi and Malayalam.



Ronny R. Valenzuela, M.D.
Adult Staff Psychiatrist

Ronny R. Valenzuela, M.D. is a part-time Adult Staff Psychiatrist in the Acute Care Department.

Dr. Valenzuela earned his medical degree from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. After relocating to the United States, he completed his internship in psychiatry at the University of Miami and his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital both in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Valenzuela has nearly 20 years of experience. He previously served as a Staff Psychiatrist for NCH Healthcare System and also has a private practice specializing in adult outpatient psychiatric services.

Dr. Valenzuela is fluent in English and Spanish.



Michael A. Corbin, M.D.
Adult Staff Psychiatrist

Michael A. Corbin, M.D. is a full time Staff Psychiatrist in the Acute Care Services Department.

Dr. Corbin earned a bachelor's of science degree in Recording Industry Management from Middle Tennessee State University and a bachelor’s of arts degree in biology from University of Tennessee. He earned his medical degree from East Tennessee State University and his residency in psychiatry from Baylor College of Medicine.

He is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Since 2004, Dr. Corbin has provided psychiatric services at David Lawrence Center and a variety of other treatment centers throughout Florida and Tennessee through Locum Tenens Agencies. In addition, he has had a private practice serving individuals and couples in Ft. Lauderdale since 2003. He has over 10 years of experience working in adult acute care units and working with severely and persistently mentally ill patients using an assertive community treatment team model.



Ronald Markby, M.D.
Adult Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Ronald Markby serves as a part time Staff Psychiatrist in Acute Care Services. He is a board certified adult psychiatrist.

Dr. Markby earned his bachelor’s degree from Knox College and his medical degree from Loyola University both in Illinois. He served his residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in South Carolina.

He brings nearly 30 years of experience to his position. Previously, he served as a Staff Psychiatrist, Professor, and Consultant Psychiatrist in many different treatment settings including private practice, hospital settings and community mental health. Locally, he previously worked for Charlotte Community Mental Health Services and The Willoughs. He retired from a full time career in 1999, but continues to work on a limited basis at his private practice in Ft. Myers.



Amy Simko, MSN, ARNP-BC
Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Ms. Simko is a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the Children’s Outpatient Medical Services Department. She provides comprehensive psychiatric medical services in both Naples and Immokalee. She is board certified to treat child, adolescent, and adult populations.

Ms. Simko earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University. Currently she is pursuing a doctorate in Behavioral Health through Arizona State University.

Ms. Simko has worked as a behavioral health specialist for nearly 15 years. She has experience working in children’s inpatient crisis stabilization units, child residential treatment centers, psychiatric emergency rooms, as well as in private practice settings.

Ms. Simko is fluent in English and Spanish.



Linda McCash Ph.D, ARNP-BC
Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Dr. McCash is a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the Children’s Outpatient Medical Services Department. She also provides services in Adult Outpatient Medical Services and the Adult and Children’s Crisis Stabilization Units. Dr. McCash provides comprehensive psychiatric medical services for patients across the life span with mental health and co-morbid substance abuse disorders. She is board certified to treat child, adolescent, and adult populations.

Dr. McCash earned her bachelor’s of science in Zoology from the University of Florida. She went on to earn her master’s of science in nursing and a doctor of philosophy in nursing science from the University of South Florida where she completed a dual concentration program in family and psychiatric mental health nursing.

Dr. McCash served as an Assistant Professor in Nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University where she conducted research and taught undergraduate nursing or six years before returning to full-time clinical practice. She has worked as a PMHNP for nearly 12 years and has experience working in children’s and adult inpatient crisis stabilization units, outpatient clinics, outreach with the homeless, hospital based psychiatric services and private practice settings.
