Our loyal Encore customers and donors can now continue to support David Lawrence Centers through a new collaboration with Nearly New Thrift and Consignment of Naples. Located just down the street from our former Encore Resale Shop location which closed in July, Nearly New is now accepting donations for the benefit of David Lawrence Centers . Through the new affiliation, 70% of the sale price of purchases of donations earmarked David Lawrence Centers will go directly to the center.

Nearly New is a locally owned business benefitting the community since 2012. They are located at 2397 Davis Boulevard and are ready to accept your donations. Simply bring in your donations or for larger items, contact them at 239-732-1326 or via e-mail to schedule a pick up. All you have to do is tell them you want the items to benefit David Lawrence Centers . Items on sale in the store that benefit DLC will be clearly marked in the sales ticket.

Nearly New Owner Ginny Sliwa believes strongly in the David Lawrence Centers mission sharing that she “lost her father to the perils of untreated mental illness”. She adds, “I am committed to continuing to work hard to make a difference in our community by being able to help local causes such as David Lawrence Centers . I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such an up-standing organization whose mission is near and dear to me and my family.”

This is just one way Sliwa’s family is giving back. Her niece, Shanna Short, has been a member of the David Lawrence Centers Young Executives board for nearly five years and her sister and brother-in-law havesupported the Center’s fundraising events. Together, through their very personal tragedy, they are each giving back in their own unique ways to help prevent others from suffering.
